In the tree hang apples that Mary doesn't yet know will make it.

Kun je nog huilen?
Ik probeerde laatst te huilen, maar het lukte niet meer.
Zo lang had ik het niet meer gedaan.
Ik moest het gewoon opnieuw leren.
Terwijl het het lekkerste is dat bestaat.

I don’t fully understand the theory of evolution.

No, I am not a creationist. But evolution seems deeply flawed.

It feels like saying: things change because they change.
Things survive because they survive.

Of course, we share DNA with the past.
There is always a connection to things from the past.

The problem with the theory of evolution is that it only seems to focus on the visible traits of a species.

For example, if I decide not to have children (and let’s assume I’m the only blonde person left), I would change the evolution of the species. But that has nothing to do with being blonde being a good or bad trait.

It’s a strange theory. What is it really trying to say?

The theory of evolution is based on the idea that small changes accumulate over time to create big changes.

But life didn’t just start with bacteria.
When bacteria existed, there was likely other life evolving as well.

So, saying that life evolved solely from bacteria seems overly simplistic, if not outright flawed. Life evolved from all other things too.

"Everything happens at the same time," says Mary,
"No matter where you are, even as far as Australia, we all look at the same sun at the same time. Time is perspective."

Time only exists from an individual perspective, not from a perspective of unity. If you look at the sun right now, and I do, that happens at the same time.

"There are no words to describe how unique the way you look at the world is. Nobody in the world looks exactly like you do," says the boy.
