Why Is Cancer Something Bad?
You don’t like cancer. You feel sad when people you love die. That makes sense.
But cancer is not something bad.
That is what the snake story (Adam and Eve) is about: understanding this principle (don't worry: this is not meant to be religious).
The same goes for pain. We live in a society that tries to prevent pain. We want to help people. This is the biggest sickness there is.
Why? Because pain is not something bad. It’s not fun, but it’s an extremely beautiful and accurate signal. So preventing pain means not feeling pain, which is a horrible disaster.
The worst thing that can happen is that we stop feeling pain at all.
The grief you feel when somebody you love dies is a part of life. That means it meant something.
Imagine being cancer for one second. Everywhere you go, people try to burn you away. But you did nothing wrong.
